Dex Camera - the Language Learning Camera

I got Dex hoping that it would help my toddlers language grow and expand. What I found was not only were they excited to learn and use with Dex but placing it on our native language helped with speech therapy. I had been struggling with finding a speech therapist who would take a child who is exposed to languages outside of Spanish and English in the local area. On a whim I selected English for Dex and found in a short amount of time my child has better pronunciation in addition to a wider vocabulary with expanded knowledge on different topics they are interested in. I’m extremely happy I found Dex and my soon to be 4 year old loves spending hours a week learning and exploring with Dex!

Purchased two of these for my little ones, and I was really excited for my 6-year-old to use it since she’s practicing Vietnamese. My 4-year-old is using it to learn Cantonese as well.

​Overall, this is a great device. My only disappointment is that we've noticed that at times, it doesn't really pick up the sounds my kids are saying. When they are trying their best to copy a tricky tone and the device doesn't register it, it definitely leads to some moments of frustration for them.

​The only other reason I didn’t give it five stars is the pricing model. Each device requires its own subscription. For families with more than one Dex and more than one child, maintaining multiple subscriptions becomes pretty inconvenient and expensive.

​That being said, it is an amazing tool for keeping our heritage languages alive in the house, and I'd still overall give it a solid 4-star rating!

Bought it for our son's 6th birthday and he loves it! Especially the customizable scavenger hunt and games!
